Nonlinear optical effects influenced the design and performance of advanced high-capacity optoelectronic systems. In this research, we developed a novel nonlinear optical (NLO) polymeric system that combines polycarbonate, cellulose acetate and a NLO chromophore (disperse red 19). Cellulose acetate containing the chlorophore was cured in the presence of polycarbonate, and the cured polymer system showed good thermal stability. The chemical structure of the NLO polymer was analyzed and the thermal stability of NLO polymeric system was analyzed by FT-IR and TGA. the electro-optic coefficient (r33) of the cured NLO system was characterized, and the refractive index was also measured by the prism coupler. |
