제목 Color-tuned Phosphorescence of Heteroleptic Ir(III) Complexes: the Mechanism and Application to a White-Phosphorescent Polymer System
초록 Cyclometalated Ir(III) complexes have been gaining ever increasing attention due to their high electrophosphorescence device efficiency. Especially, in order to archive full-color emitting devices, it has been of great importance to establish a well-tailored phosphorescence color-tuning methodology. We have characterized a series of highly phosphorescent cyclometalated heteroleptic Ir(III) complexes containing emitting (chromophoric) ancillary ligands. We directly observed relatively rapid (ca. 6-7 ns-1) exothermic inter-ligand energy transfer (ILET) from the cyclometalating ligand to the emitting ancillary ligand, which afforded a novel strategy of emission color tuning. Additionally, facile and efficient generation of white phosphorescence was demonstrated by exploring the ILET process in a mixture of heteroleptic Ir(III) complexes in a polymeric host.
