제목 | The investigation for effective water separation from bitumen/water emulsion |
초록 | It is becoming necessary to develop unconventional resources owing to conventional oil resources depletion possibility and high oil prices. And unconventional resources recently meet the economical efficiency for oil price increase and production technique development. Specially, it is estimated that 830 billion barrels of oil are located in the oilsands in Alberta, Canada. Demulsification is necessary in many practical applications such as the petroleum industry and waste-water treatment. The purpose of this study is the separation of two immiscible liquids of internal aqueous phase containing concentrated solutes and oil phase. The use of chemical demulsifier can modify the water/oil emulsion interfacial properties, thus allowing water droplets to coalesce more easily into larger droplet. Two types of motor oils (GS Caltex, Deluxe Gold V 7.5W/30, Hyundai gear oil 85W/140) were used as model oils in our basic experiments to investigate the effect of demulsifier on the water-oil emulsion separation. As a result, water/oil emulsion was not separated without demulsifiers and TWEEN20 and PEG1000 showed better separation efficiency than other demulsifiers. |
