Chemoselective Diels-Alder reactions over ion exchanged Al-SBA-16 |

Aluminum was incorporated directly onto Na SBA-16 cubic mesoporous silica by self pH-controlled method with sodium metasilicate as silica source which make synthesis start from high pH value. Incorporated aluminum sites showed sole Lewis acid sites which were induced by co-presence of sodium cation. Cation was exchange to H , Ce and Zn2 . Diels-Alder reaction was carried out by Ion exchanged Al-SBA-16s. Na Al-SBA-16 as sole Lewis acid catalyst showed good catalytic activity in the Diels-Alder reaction and Ce and Zn2 exchanged one give improved Lewis acidity. H Al-SBA-16 showed strong acidity with high endo/exo selectivity. |
