Different ratios of epigallocatechin blended sponges were fabricated with duck’s feet-derived collagen (DC) followed by hydroxyapatite coating. Clear extracted collagen solution from duck’s feet. Hydroxylapatite is a Synthetic Bone Graft, which is the most used among other synthetic due to its osteoconduction, hardness and acceptability by bone. It has been observed that DC sponge with 50μm epigallocatechin showed improved cell proliferation and osteogenic differentiation. The composite material supports the cell growth and form hexagonal morphology with well-maintained functions. The samples were analyzed for various properties such as like, SEM, Porosity, FTIR, MTT assay, ALP assay, mRNA expression, histolical expression, in vivo test, etc. Results suggest that incorporation of epigallocatechin with duck’s feet collagen sponge can be potentially applied in bone transplantation. |
