제목 Selective production of ethanol or acetic acid from syngas by indirect DME/MA route
초록 For a selective production of ethanol form syngas via multi-step reactions such as COx hydrogenation, carbonylation of dimethyl ether (DME) and hydrogenation of methyl acetate (MA), the highly crystalline ferrierite (FER)-based composite catalysts containing Cu-based metal oxides were investigated. The ordered mesoporous Cu/Al2O3 with structural promoters such as Zn and Ga oxides revealed a superior catalytic activity and stability by the stabilization of spatially confined Cu nanoparticles in the ordered mesoporous Al2O3. In addition, the highly crystalline FER showed a higher catalytic stability due to the suppressed coke depositions during a gas-phase carbonylation of DME to MA on the Bronsted acidic sites. The distributions of coke deposited on the acidic sites are precisely analyzed by using various characterization tools, and the schemes of ethanol production from syngas are briefly explained.
