The sucrose addition effect of P-modified FT catalysts were tested to enhance the dispersion of cobalt crystals as well as degree of reduction as shown in our previous work. The catalysts were tested in a fixed bed reactor under following reaction condition; T = 220 ℃, SV = 2000 L/kgcat/h and P = 20 bar. The catalysts were characterized by XRD. According to the previous work, it was found that the addition of phosphorus on alumina support increased the reducibility and intensified the hydrothermal stability. In the present study, the effect of sucrose addition was investigated and the results showed that the addition of sucrose to the P-modified FT catalysts could increase dispersion while lowering reducibility. The addition of sucrose resulted in the increased FT activity and the decreased cobalt particle size below a critical composition of P. |
