Oil palm is one of economic plant of Thailand. Right now Thailand has many Small-Scale oil extraction plants that can extract oil from palm fruit and from palm mesocarp. The extracted crude palm oil (CPO) contain 8-10% of free fatty acid (FFA) content that is not suitable to produce biodiesel via transesterification process. A two-step catalyzed process (esterification and transesterification) is recommended for the production of biodiesel from CPO. The 150 liters of reactor size and the analytical tools for quality control were invented for sustainable biodiesel production. In addition, the palm nut, separated from mesocarp, was made valued products such as palm kernel oil and activated carbon. |
