Demand in existing energy-efficient fossil fuels is continuously increasing owing to a rapid industrialization and scarcity of fossil fuels and global warming is rapidly accelerated due to the emission of greenhouse gases from fossil fuels. In order to resolve these challenges, it is necessary to develop more efficient catalytic conversion process of fossil fuels into chemicals. The core technology is exemplified by producing hydrocarbon based on Fischer-Tropsch Synthesis (FTS). The proposed catalyst is based on hierarchical hybrid architectures, consisting of CNT branches on the 3D steam-activated, N-incorporated reduced graphene oxide (rGO), supporting Fe catalysts. The graphene/CNT architecture supported Fe catalyst was effectively applied to a rapid CO hydrogenation reaction showing extremely high activity of 4.4 x 103 molCO gFe-1 s-1 at a fast gas velocity of 210 NL gcat-1 h-1.
