Electrochemical preparation and characterization of CNT/TiO2 composite and its application on photoelectrocatalytic degradation of methylene blue |

CNT/TiO2 composites were prepared by the electrochemical method with TNB electrolyte under different electrochemical operation time. There is a single crystal structure which is anatase in all of the samples from the data of XRD. The SEM micrphotographs of CNT/TiO2 composites show that the TiO2 particles were well mixed with the CNT. There are O with strong C and Ti peaks in all samples from EDX results, and it also shows that a decrease of the C content with a increasing of Ti content with increasing of the electrochemical operation time in the overall composites. The photodegradation of methylene blue (MB) using the proposed electrode under different experimental conditions was investigated in terms of UV absorbance .The electrical bias applied in photoelectrocatalytic (PEC) oxidation was also studied. Through the comparison between photocatalytic (PC) oxidation and photoelectrocatalytic (PEC) oxidation, it was found that PEC oxidation was a convenient and effective way to mineralize the organic matters. |
