제목 Preparation of Fe-containing ACF/TiO2 composites and their photodegradation for the MB Solution
초록 The activated carbon fiber/TiO2 (ACF/TiO2) composites modified with different concentration of Fe were prepared. Then the characteristics of Fe-ACF/TiO2 were analyzed by employing SEM, XRD, EDX tools to determine the potential factors which probably influence the photocatalytic activity. The N2 adsorption data showed that the composites had decreased surface compared with the activated carbon fiber. This indicated the blocking of the micropores on the surface of ACF, which was further supported by the observation through SEM. The XRD results showed that patterns of the composites are anatase and rutile typed titanium dioxide structure with a highest portion of rutile in mediated Fe concentration (1.0mol/L). The EDX results showed that the presence of C, O with Ti peaks on the composites of Fe-ACF/TiO2. With an increasing Fe concentration, more content of Fe element was incorporated into the TiO2 particles. Subsequently the photocatalytic effects of the composites on MB decomposition were investigated. The improved performance on MB decomposition shows the combined effects of adsorptions by ACF and photocatalytic activity through TiO2. The higher Fe concentration enhanced the photocatalytic effects on MB.
