제목 Dynamic Quenching Behavior of Fluorescent Au Nanoclusters by Trace Cu Ions
초록 Gold nanoclusters (Au NCs) are a class of ultra-small size of nanoparticles, which usually consists of several to tens of atoms, have been developed and stimulated extensive interests due to strong fluorescence, high surface area, and stability. So far, Au NCs have been widely used as fluorescent probes for the detection of various metal ions with trace concentration. The interaction between metal ions and Au NCs leads different fluorescent properties of Au NCs depending on the types of metal ions. In this study, we investigated the interaction between the glutathione capped-Au NCs and Cu2+ through monitoring photoluminescent features. We found that the fluorescence intensity of Au NCs drastically quenched by interacting with Cu2+ ion. TCSPC and XPS results implies that the electrons from Au NCs transferred toward to Cu ion quickly, resulting in the Au NCs are being oxidized and Cu ions are being reduced simultaneously.
