Investigation of the Hydrophobic Effect of Films Based on Fluorinated Silica |

In recent years, functional waterproofing products have been used and studied in various fields such as clothing, mobile display and medical machine. Generally, the hydrophobic effect is good when it has low surface energy or rough surfaces. In this study, the surface roughness was controlled by mixing fluorine silica of different size. First, silica particles are uniformly synthesized through the Stöber method. Then, the sol-gel method was used to modify fluorine silane with low surface energy on the surface of silica. After mixing the modified silica particles of different particles sizes with a common binder, sonication was performed and the film was prepared by bar coating. As a result, it was confirmed that the smaller the size of the silica particles, the higher the water contact angle, the haze and the total transmittance of the film. |
