Organic solar cells(OSC) have attracted attention as a renewable energy source due to their low cost, ease of manufacture, and compatibility with flexible substrates. Despite these advantages, OSC is limited by mismatch of the absorption to the solar spectrum of the donor polymer. Optical band-gap of the polymer is not optimized with respect to the maximum photon flux of the solar spectrum between 350 nm and 650 nm. Based on these motivation, we synthesized a low band gap polymer containing electron-donor units such as dithieno[3,2-b;2’,3’-d]thiophene and electron-acceptor units such as 2,1,3-benzothiadiazole to absorb more photon flux. The characterization, electrochemical properties and optical properties of polymer are discussed. |
