Ternary liquid-liquid equilibria for {decane + BTX aromatics + imidazolium based ionic liquids} systems and deviation properties for {decane + BTX aromatics} binary systems |

The separation of aromatic and aliphatic hydrocarbon is still great challenge for petrolleum industry and related chemical engineers. There is no efficient separation process for mixtures with compositions lower than 20wt% in aromatics. Liquid-liquid extraction is one of the solution and therefore liquid-liquid equilibrium(LLE) data is important to design and development of separation processes of aromatics. Ionic liquids(ILs) can be used as green solvents to replace conventional toxic solvents in liquid-liquid extractions of aromatic hydrocarbons. The main purpose of this study is test of a new ternary LLE data:{decane(1)+BTX(2)+1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium methylsulfate(3)} and {decane(1)+BTX(2)+1-butyl-3-ethylimidazolium ethylsulfate(3)} at T=308.15K and atmospheric pressure were determined. The experimental LLE data have been correlated well with NRTL GE model. In addition, the deviation of refractive indies(ΔR) and viscosity(η) for the binary systems {decane+BTX} were determined. The measured ΔR and viscosity data were regressed well with the Redlich-Kister equation. |
