The Effect of the Regioregularity of P3HT onInterfacial Segregation andVertical Phase Distribution in the Organic Photovolatic Devices |

In the bulk heterojunction organic photovoltaic devices (OPV), the electrical performance critically depends on the phase separation and the vertical phase distribution of the electron donor and acceptor material in the photoactive layer. In this work, we studied the effect of the regioregularity of poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) on the interfacial segregation and vertical phase distribution in the P3HT and PC61BM blend films. It was comprehensively analyzed that the vertical segregation of P3HT nanocrystals in the blend film was manipulated dependent on the regioregularity of P3HT, which was characterized by using various techniques including electron tomography and dynamic secondary ion mass spectroscopy (DSIMS) and grazing incidence X-ray diffraction (GIXRD). The electrical performances of the vertically segregated blend film was also investigated and correlated with the compositional gradient of P3HT and PCBM phases. |
