초록 | The biology of dengue transmitter vector can be influenced by climatic factors which can contribute to its geographic distribution. We performed a prediction analysis of dengue cases for assessing the importance of climatic drivers influencing outbreaks in the Ecuadorian coast region. Local climate data and total dengue cases (TDC) reported during 2013 and 2015 were used into a partial least square regression which showed to maximum and minimum temperature as the factors with higher projecting capacity in the prediction of TDC. The results reveal the dengue outbreak season goes from March to June and a future estimation predicted the next high outbreak to occur in 2018. Monitoring the climate drivers identified in this study could provide some predictive lead for forecasting dengue epidemics.
