Diagnosis of cancer is very essential for the treatment and prognosis of the patient. therefore, imaging devices and contrast agents are essential for accurate cancer diagnosis. but, there is a concern about the safety of contrast agent. In this study, we designed galactosylated macrocyclic chelator based T1-weighted contrast agent (CA) for stability. macrocyclic chelator was conjugated with galactose to improve the water proton exchange rate by surrounded hydrogen bonding, 1H NMR & 13C NMR spectrum were conducted to demonstrate the synthesis of CA. in addition, xylenol orange method proved that free Gd3+ was not present in the CA. In vitro and in vivo paramagnetic properties of CA showed relatively high intensity compared to conventional macrocyclic chelator-based CA. These results demonstrated that galactosylated T1-weighted MR contrast agent can be used as a cancer diagnostic CA. |
