제목 Enzyme Cocktail Design of β-agarase enzymes for complete hydrolysis of Agarose in Ionic Liquid-pretreated Gelidium amansii
초록 Gelidium amansii is an abundant agarose-rich red macroalgae that can be utilized as a renewable resource of D-galactose and 3,6-anhydro-L-galactose. Ionic liquid (IL) pretreatment with subsequent enzymatic hydrolysis is a facile strategy to effectively deconstruct and hydrolyze the agar into its monomeric sugars, and eliminate generation of degradation products. Four ILs: [EMIM]Cl, [BMIM]Cl, [EMIM]OAc and [BMIM]OAc were employed to pretreat G. amansii. Among them, [BMIM]OAc is the most suitable IL to dissolve G. amansii. Succeeding enzymatic hydrolysis is under investigation. This research was supported by the National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF) funded by the Ministry of Education (2009-0093816).
