Two-Dimensional Array of Silver Nanowires-Layered Conductive Microparticles for a Pressure-Mediated Glucose Sensor |

We introduce a novel colloidal glucose sensing platform, which was designed by 2-D array of 4-mercaptophenylboronic acid-treated conductive microparticles (CMPs) on a holes-patterned stencil substrate. The essence of our approach is to precisely detect the current change induced by the selective conjugation of glucose with 4-MPBA on the CMPs. For this, we fabricated monodisperse polyurethane elastomeric MPs by using microfluidics and coated them with 4-MPBA treated silver nanowires. The CMPs were 2-D arrayed on the holes-patterned stencil to completely eliminate any error function coming from the deviation of particle contact number. Finally, we demonstrated experimentally that the colloidal glucose sensor developed in this study could detect the glucose over a wide concentration range with remarkable sensitivity. |
