The effect of additives on the electrochemical properties of lithium/pyrite batteries |
초록 |
Pyrite (Iron disulfide) has been demonstrated to be a very useful material for the development of electrodes for advanced lithium batteries. Experimental lithium secondary cells with pyrite electrodes have presented excellent reversible specific energy density at high temperatures (400~450oC) or specific capacity at moderate temperatures (625 mAh/g at 135oC). However, the room-temperature cycleability of Li/pyrite cell has not shown good results for rechargeable batteries until now. In this work, we have modified iron disulfides with additional transition metals and also investigated the discharge properties of Li/FeS2 cell using iron disulfide prepared at room-temperature. The initial capacity and cyclic performance were increased greatly when nickel was added to prepare the modified iron disulfide. |
