제목 Adsorption Characteristics of 2,4-D in a Fixed and Semi-Fluidized Beds
초록 Adsorption of 2,4-Dichlorophenoxyacetic acid onto granular activated carbon (GAC) was studied to get basic information on its removal from aqueous solution. The adsorption capacity of 2,4-Dichlorophenoxyacetic acid onto GAC increased with decreasing initial pH of the solution. The internal diffusion coefficients were determined by comparing the experimental concentration curves with those predicted from the surface diffusion model (SDM) and pore diffusion model (PDM). The linear driving force approximation (LDFA) model was used to simulate isothermal adsorption behavior in a fixed bed. The breakthrough curve for packed bed is steeper than that for the fluidized bed and the breakthrough curves obtained form semi-fluidized beds lies between those obtained from the packed and fluidized beds. Desorption rate of 2,4-D in a fixed bed was about 95 % using distilled water.
