Facile preparation of graphene foam with hierarchical structures for fast and highly efficient removal of radioactive cesium |

Porous materials with hierarchical structures are of increasing importance because of their potential application in separation technology. This study reports the facile preparation and the cesium removal efficiency of graphene foam composed of graphene oxide (GO) and Prussian blue nanoparticles with hierarchical structures. The resulting hierarchical graphene foam exhibits high surface area and efficient adsorption capacity for cesium. Both the hierarchical graphene foam demonstrate an over 99% removal rate for radioactive cesium. This study provides new insights into the facile and controllable industrial scale fabrication of safe and highly efficient GO-based adsorbents for radioactive contaminant or other metallic pollutants in a wide range of environmental-related applications. |
