제목 |
ZnO@CdS core-shell nanorod on WO3 as photoelectrochemical electrode for high performance hydrogen production |
초록 |
Hydrogen evolution by the water splitting is one of the easy and clean method for generating energy which can solve the energy crisis in our near future. In this report, ZnO@CdS nanorods were fabricated by squential wet chemical process including chemical bath deposition (CBD) and hydrothermal method (HM) on WO3 nano-flakes structures. Prior to this, sputtering process followed by HM have been involved to grow basic uniform WO3 nano-flakes onto FTO substrate. To ensure the enhancement in the performance of electrode under solar light in this work supterred grown Pt nanoparticles were used as the catalyst. The morphology and performance of the electrodes were characterized by FESEM, HR-TEM, XRD, LSV and conversion efficiency measurements. From the LSV analysis it is found that at 0 V vs SCE the current density is about 16.45 mA/cm2. The structure FTO/ WO3/ ZnO@CdS/Pt shows about 6% of efficiency of conversion energy at -0.5 V vs SCE. |
