제목 High P-xylene Perm-selective Ability of MFI Zeolite Membranes with Embedded Extrinsic Pores
초록 Mobil-type five (MFI) zeolites are promising membrane materials for separate p‐xylene from its isomers. In this work, extrinsic pores were embedded in MFI zeolite membranes to improve separation performance and stability. MFI zeolite membranes with embedded extrinsic pores had a hierarchical structure like swiss cheese. This hierarchically structured MFI membranes (HM membranes) showed higher molar flux than conventional microporous MFI membranes (MM membranes). It is because extrinsic pores in HM membranes decrease effective diffusional pathway of zeolite membranes. P-/o-xylene sepation factor of HM membranes was higher than MM membranes, because number of defects in HM membranes was smaller than MM membranes. Extrinsic pores in zeolite membranes improved thermal and mechanical stability of HM membranes, so HM membranes showed high long‐term stability at harsh conditions up to 275 °C and partial pressures of 8 kpa.
