Transition metal vanadates with a chemical formula of MV2O6 (M= Mn, Co, Ni, or Cu) can impart surface Lewis acidic (defective) species prone to be modified with SOA2- species (A= 3 or 4) during NOX reduction with NH3 (SCR) at low temperatures. This results in the creation of surface Brönsted acidic species, whose strengths rely substantially on the type of metals (M) used to build MV2O6 phases. In this presentation, we propose a series of elementary steps utilized to account for surface SCR dynamics and locate the rate-determining stage to direct the initial NOX consumption rates of the MV2O6 phases at low temperatures. In addition, we extract kinetic parameters (activation energies and pre-factors) of the MV2O6 phases for comparison and conclude which MV2O6 phase is most desirable in prompting the low-temperature SCR. |
