Organic photovoltaic (OPV) devices have been a promising technology for energy production because of inexpensive fabrication, lightweight, and flexibility. Developing efficient photoactive materials has been a key issue in OPV researches. In this work, we synthesized two different low band gap organic small molecules with A-π-D-π-A structures designed. Two small molecular structures are as follows. First molecule, BDTT-4-DC, has a structure of 4,8-bis(5-2-ethylhexyl)thiopene-2-yl)benzo[1,2-b;4,5-b']dithiophene as center donor (D1), 4,7-bis(4-octyl-2thienyl)-2,1,3-banzothiazoie (π) and octyl-cyanoacetate acceptor (A). Secondly, BDTO-4-DC with a 2,6-bis(trimethyltin)-4,8-bis(5-(2-ethylhexyl)thiopen-2-yl)benzo[1,2-b:4,5-b`]dithiophene as center donor (D2), 4,7-bis(4-octyl-2thienyl)-2,1,3-banzothiazoie (π) and octyl-cyanoacetate accepter (A) was synthesized. The characterizations and device performance of the two molecules were studied. |
