Heceptin ConjugatedNear-Infrared Quantum Dots (QDs) for Targeted Cancer Therapy and Imaging |
초록 |
The use of functionalized targetd near-IR quantum dots (QDs) for cancer targeted cancer therapy and imaging is the fastest moving fields of cancer nanotechnology. In particular, nanoparticle based multifunctional platforms offer the potential to improve the drug distribution and efficacy of drug targeting. Luminescent NIR QDs were entrapped in the polymer micelles of mixtures of PEG-PCDA conjugate and PCDA-Herceptin® conjugates to make them water soluble & target specific. In cell experiment, HER-2 positive expressed breast cancer cells shows brighter images than other cancer cell KB, indicating cellular uptake of the QD-encapsulated nanoparticles was mediated specifically by the HER-2 receptor. The particles have been distributed thrpough out the body rapidy and succesfuly accumolated into the tumor after tail vein injection. This technology may be ultimately adapted to simultaneously treat and image cancer. |
