Potassium alkoxide-initiated α,ω-heterobifunctional PEO and its application for preparation of nano particles and block copolymer |
초록 |
Alkoxide having potassium counter ion has been well known to initiate ethylene oxide leading to living polymerization in polar solvent. To synthesize α,ω-heterobifunctional poly(ethylene oxide), 3-azidopropan-1-ol was synthesized by reaction of 3-chloropropan-1-ol with NaN3 at 80°C, followed by converting to the corresponding potassium alkoxide in THF using potassium naphthalenide under high vacuum and polymerization of ethylene oxide at 35°C in THF for 48h. After complete polymerization, propylene sulfide was delivered into the reactor to produce of α,ω-heterobifunctional PEO. The reactor was kept at room temperature for 24h. The resulting copolymer was used as polymeric stabilizer for preparation of gold nanoparticles. In addition, potassium polymeric alkoxide-initiated polymerization of N-phenylmaleimide was performed to synthesize α-azido functionalized block copolymer. In this presentation, we will discuss the preliminary results. |
