Effect of monolith count on the honeycomb plasma discharge aimed high-throughput ethylene treatment |

Honeycomb plasma discharge has been successfully generated in a simple configurated sandwich-type plasma reactor with a commercial-scale monolith. One of the focuses regarding monolith catalyst and simple configuration reactor is the treatment of higher volume of gas. However, at a higher flow rate, ethylene removal efficiency is reduced. A novel reactor configuration that includes multiple monoliths packed inside a single reactor has been proposed. The results illustrated that the discharge power increases linearly (R2 = 99.9) when monolith count is increased while maintaining the specific input energy (SIE) keeping the gas hour space velocity (GSHV) constant. Moreover, when the flow rate was maintained, the discharge power/SIE increased slightly when the monolith count increased from 1 to 2 and was maintained thereafter. |
