We synthesized of polyester polyurethane foams (Polyester PUFs) from poly(adipate)-diol, high functional polyether polyol, and polymeric methylene diphenyl diisocyanate (PMDI). As a physical and chemical type blowing agent, cyclopentane and distilled water were used, respectively. We investigated the influence of the blowing agents on the morphology and physical properties of the polyester PUFs. Especially, we focused on finding the relation between the thermal conductivity and morphology of the PUFs, which was controlled by not only the contents of the two polyols and PMDI but also the content and type of blowing agent. The morphology of the PUFs was characterized with scanning electron microscopy. The thermal conductivity of the PUFs was measured using hot wire method. In addition, the mechanical properties, such as the compressive strength, tensile strength of the PUFs were investigated using universal testing machine. |
