Polyimide (PI) hybrid films were prepared using functionalized silica with epoxy or amino groups. PI films have been used for flexible or foldable display window materials so that their high mechanical performance and transparency are required. Usually, colorless PI films have been fabricated using monomers having fluorinated groups to reduce charge transfer effect. To decrease the amount of fluorinated monomers, we herein introduce functionalized silica materials with epoxy and amino groups. The mechanical and optical properties of the PI hybrid films were examined as a function of silica sizes and contents. The properties were measured using tensile test, thermogravimetric analysis, differential scanning calorimeter, haze meter, pencil hardness test, and x-ray diffraction. |
