제목 | Effective hydrogen production from water/methanol splitting using CuS@In2S3 photocatalysts |
초록 | Hydrogen energy is attracting attention as a next-generation clean energy source that can simultaneously solve the environmental and energy problems facing mankind. However, the hydrocarbon reforming reaction, which is the most well-known method for producing hydrogen, is expensive, difficult to store, and has a limited use due to the generation of environmenatally harmful byproducts. Thus, the hydrogen production method using photocatalyst is a more eco-friendly, and it is essential to develop a photocatalyst with high efficiency. In this study, we tried to produce hydrogen from water/methanol splitting using CuS, In2S3 and CuS@In2S3 catalysts. The catalysts were synthesized by sol-gel method and compared the hydrogen production performance by water/methanol splitting. As a result, the hydrogen production performance of CuS@In2S3 catalyst was improved more than that of CuS and In2S3 catalysts, which is interpreted as a result of suppression of recombination between e-/h+ pairs. |
