제목 | Tannin-based nanoformulation for hydrophobic drug delivery |
초록 | Tannins are polyphenolic compounds ubiquitously found in plants that possess antioxidant and anticancer activity. Among them, a representative hydrolysable tannin, Tannic acid (TA), has attracted attention as a nanocarrier for therapeutics due to their amphiphilic nature; it shows strong affinity to biomacromolecules via multivalent hydrogen bonding and hydrophobic therapeutics via π–π stacking. Herein, we synthesized a nanoformulation of a hydrophobic anticancer drug, paclitaxel (PTX), and a hydrophilic biopolymer poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) via TA as a molecular glue.
