Proteins are generally used as therapeutic molecules for effective diagnosis and treatment. However, proteins are unstable and easily denatured, losing their functions in vivo. Therefore, many delivery systems have been studied. Especially, PEGylation increases steric impediment, protease resistance, and in vivo half-life. However, about 25 % of patients develop anti-PEG antibody, resulting in rapid clearance of protein. Liposome are unstable and release the encapsulated proteins in unintended sites. Inorganic particle requires chemical treatment, which can damage protein properties. Recently, a protein delivery technique using tannic acid (TA) has been reported. It needs only simple mixing of proteins and TA without other chemical treatment. However, it has not been reported whether this method is universally available for all proteins. Therefore, we conformed whether TA interacted various other proteins to form the particles. and whether the properties of the proteins were retained. |
