PdO@SNP: A Competent Green Heterogeneous Approach to One-pot Catalytic Decarbonylation of Primary Alcohols |

Palladium oxide doped over silica nanoparticles (PdO@SNPs) heterogeneous system was proved as a facile green approach for direct dehydrogenative decarbonylation of an ample series of primary alcohols. The catalyst was considered as to support two successive conversions in one-pot without any co-catalyst at relatively low temperature. Optimization of the reaction of 2-naphthalenemethanol to naphthalene was followed by the decarbonylation of variety of substrates demonstrating a good to excellent selectivity and yield of products. ICP-AES analysis revealed no leaching of metal in the reaction vessel ensuring a robust mechanical stability and reusability of PdO@SNP nanocatalyst. |
