제목 Adsorption Characteristics of IPA-Water Mixture
초록 The purification of IPA was investigated using the fixed adsorbent bed (0.053 m-ID × 0.9 m-height) packed with type 4Å molecular sieve. Adsorption was carried out with 4Å zeolite (225 g) and 85wt% inlet IPA vapor (IPA solution: 6.4 ml/min, initial bed temperature: 423, 473 and 523 K). The temperatures were measured by means of thermocouples and recorded by the Temperature Recorder. The water content of IPA solution was measured using pycnometer. The sieve was capable of breaking up the IPA-water azeotrope and the capacity decreased with increasing bed temperature. The breakthrough time and the average concentration of water were decreased with increasing initial bed temperature. In this experiment, the highest purity of IPA was 98.09wt% at 423 K initial bed temperature.
