Effect of Calcite Filler on Optical and Dielectric Properties of B2O3-ZnO-BaO glass Composites. |

Development of reflector which has a high reflectance and low dielectric constant can obtain low power consumption and high luminance efficiency. Calcite may be a suitable material as a filler for highly efficient reflector, because calcite has low dielectric constant and high brightness. It is available to acquire price competitiveness due to its high storage on the earth. We fabricated the composites added with calcite as a filler in the B2O3-ZnO-BaO glass system with various contents and difference shape. The reflectance, brightness and dielectric constant were evaluated using UV-visible spectrometer and LCR meter. Reflectance and brightness are increased by the addition of calcite in the matrix glass and the dielectric constant is decreased with increase of calcite in the matrix glass. Each specimens showed 3~5 dielectric constants. The composite added 20wt% of a calcite filler in the matrix glass showed highest reflectance(86%, at 550nm). |
