Effect of processing parameters on ceramic additive manufacturing using digital light processing with tape casting mechanism |
초록 |
Digital Light Processing (DLP) is utilized to build highly accurate complex bodies through photo polymerization. In order to overcome typical problems associated with vat system like poor visibility, limited processing control and unexpected curing during printing we replaced the vat system with continuous film supply type printer. It utilizes tape casting mechanism to form thin layer required for layer by layer printing. The slip used in this study contains ceramic powder dispersed in photocurable resin consisted of photoinitiators, multifunctional monomers. Similar to tape casting the slip needs to be deflocculated prior to printing. Also suitable curing time per layer is also chosen for adequate printing of component. These parameters have a huge impact on final properties of the component like mechanical strength, density and surface finish. Sufficient curing time for a particular layer thickness along with slurry viscosity, defoaming, dispersion and solid loading control are basic requirement for adequate final properties. Our printer allows us to print alumina, zirconia, and hydroxyapatite with high accuracy making it a versatile system for other materials as well. For all materials these basic parameters needs to be controlled carefully for enhanced properties. |
