Investigation on Potassium-Substituted NASICON Solid Electrolytes for Sodium Ion Batteries |
초록 |
As the interest in the environment grows, the importance of renewable energy is increasing. Attempts are being made to escape from conventional non-renewable energy sources. One of the promising candidates to replace is rechargeable batteries including sodium ion batteries. In particular, the limited amount of lithium makes those economical sodium ion batteries more fascinating. Another important factor is the safety problem of sodium ion batteries due to the use of liquid electrolytes. To avoid problems, the conversion from flammable liquid electrolyte to non-flammable solid electrolyte is a key solution. Na superionic conductor (NASICON) is one of the most promising solid electrolyte with moderate conductivity. To be practically used in the all-solid-state batteries, acceptable ionic conductivity is required. Herein, we demonstrate a novel solid electrolyte Na3Zr2Si2PO12 with NASICON structure, doped with potassium. Ionic conductivity is significantly improved over the undoped NASICON. This work demonstrates the effect of alkali ion doping through structural analysis of NASICON. |
