제목 Facile synthesis of high-quality nanoporous photoelectrodes of Bismuth Vanadate for enhanced charge transport and photoelectrochemical water splitting efficiency
초록 We have synthesized a high-quality nano porous photoelectrodes of BiVO4 via facile spin coating technique with controlled spin rate and spin time for desired high surface energy. BiVO4 electrodes with different concentrations have been developed and coded as BVO-1, BVO-2, BVO-3, respectively. Thermodynamically stable single phase polycrystalline monoclinic crystal structure of deposited material is confirmed by X-Ray diffraction study. Nano porous architectures with high surface energy has been obtained for all samples. UV-VIS spectrophotometric results show that the bandgap energies within the range 2.1eV – 2.3eV. BiVO4 photoelectrodes are also checked for photocatalytic studies and shows as high as 94% degradation efficiency for Methylene Blue (MB) dye which is indicative of greater charge transport and lesser recombination rate. Photoelectrochemical (PEC) experiment results shows an enhanced photocurrent density, the highest photocurrent density has been observed for BVO-3 sample. The enhanced water splitting performance may be attributed to the longer charge carrier lifetime in the uniformly dispersed nanoporus BiVO4 layer on the FTO.
