The selective catalytic reduction of NO by propylene as reducing agent in the presence of 5% O2 over platinum supported on various mesoporous materials (MCM-41, MCM-48, KIT-1 and SBA-15) were investigated in detail. All mesoporous materials were treated to show the good hydrothermal stability. In case of MCM-41 and MCM-48, hydrothermal stability was greatly improved by the post-salt treatment. Pt/MCM-41, Pt/MCM-48 and Pt/SBA-15 showed the better activity for NO reduction than conventional Pt/ZSM-5 catalyst. The catalytic activities for NO reduction over Pt/mesoporous materials were found to be increased by Al incorporation using post-synthesis modification of mesoporous materials, possibly due to the improvement of their acidity. Effect of secondary metal (Ru, Sn and Ag) addition on the catalytic activity was investigated. Ru loading of 1wt% seemed to be the optimum for MCM-48 and SBA-15, while Sn and Ag decreased the catalytic activity of all the tested catalysts. Pt(1)Ru(1)/MCM-48 among others showed the good resistance not only to SO2 (500ppmv) but also to water vapor (10 vol.%). |
