Fluorescence control in electrochromic device by redox state of electroactive polymer |

An electrochemically switchable fluorescent device was assembled using methylene polyanthracene, non-fluorescent electrochromic poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene), and polymer electrolyte. The color from PEDOT chromophore and the fluorescence of methylene polyanthracene fluorophore could be controlled according to the applied potential between two ITO electrodes and the content of electrochromic PEDOT. The emission intensity of the device was highly dependant on the redox state of non-fluorescent materials such as PEDOT and iodides. Optical and emission switching of the all-solid-state electrochromic device were reversible under ± 2 V. |
