제목 | Calcium Peroxide-Mediated In Situ Forming Hydrogels with Accelerated Mesenchymal Stem Cell Behaviors and Antibacterial Properties |
초록 | Horseradish peroxidase (HRP) and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2)-catalyzed hydrogelation serves jnjectable hydrogels as therapeutic vehicles/implants. Herein, we utilize calcium peroxide (CaO2) as H2O2 generation source for HRP-mediated reaction to create stiff hydrogels without cytocompatibility. The physico-chemical properties of hydrogels are controlled by varying HRP and CaO2 concentrations. The controlled and sustained release of H2O2, O2, and Ca2+ from hydrogels could stimulate the cellular behaviors (attachment, migration, differentiation) of mesenchymal stem cells. Moreover, the hydrogels exhibited killing efficacy against both gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria. These results suggest that HRP/CaO2 – catalyzed hydrogels are potential for various biomedical applications, such as bone regeneration and infectious treatment.
