A Microneedle (MN) is a micro-sized needle, which can inject through the epidermis layer to dermal tissue directly. MNs are extensively used for therapeutic tools in transdermal drug delivery system because they are efficient, safe, and painless. These days, many different types of MNs have been provided for deliver drugs, proteins or genes. Among them, dissolving MNs are widely studied for targeting malignant tumor. Imidazoquinoline is used for antiviral and antiallergic immune control in a way to regulate immune response. In this study, we design amphiphilic triblock copolymer-based nano-micelle generating MNs (NMCs) in situ. Here, ovalbumin (OVA) and resiquimod (R848) were loaded into the NMC generating MNs to prevent cancer growth. Injection of dissolving MNs containing malignant tumor model antigen (OVA) and adjuvant (R848) to the skin of EG7-OVA tumor-injected mice, induced a significant level of antigen-specific humoral and cellular immunity, resulting in inhibit tumor growth. |
