Electrochemical characteristics of ZnO-nanowire/yttria-stabilized zirconia composite as a cathode for solid oxide fuel cells |
초록 |
We report electrical characteristics of a porous composite cathode for the solid oxide fuel cell consisting of ZnO single crystalline nanowires (ZnO-NW) and yttria stabilized zirconia (YSZ) particles. This composite cathode significantly reduces not only concerns about chemical and mechanical compatibility with the YSZ electrolyte, which has remained one of the main challenges for practical utilization of the SOFC, but also the cathodic polarization resistance compared with conventional cathodes. The area-specific polarization resistivity measured from the composite cathode (30 wt% ZnO nanowire and 70 wt% YSZ) is ~0.6 cm2, which is comparable with those measured from conventional Sr-doped LaMnO3/YSZ composite cathode. |
