Graphene oxide have been studied as membranes due to the ultrafast molecular permeation by atomic thickness and high mechanical strength. Pristine graphene or graphene oxide is impermeable to liquids and gases, therefore the possibilities to create water pathways through the material are either the stackin of graphene oxide sheet ot the generation of nano-defect in monolayer graphene. In this study, we modified graphene oxide monolayer using Langmuir-Blodgett technique by changing surface pressure. To evaluate liquid or vapor permeabilities, graphene oxide monolayer was transfered to porous substrate. Free-standing graphene oxide monolayer on porous substrate was confirmed by atomic force microscopy and scanning electron microscopy, and permeabilities of water and various organic solvent was evaluated by filtration equiment. |
