Effects of freezing rate and molecular weight of PEG cryoprotectant on the re-dispersability and mophology of dried nanoparticles |
초록 |
Re-dispersibility of freeze dried nanoparticles is an important factor, which is an ability to restore their original particle sizes upon re-constitution of powders. It depends on the various freeze drying process. We investigated the effect of molecular weight of PEG on the re-dispersibility of nanoparticles as a function of freezing rate. It was varied as a function of the distance from a liquid nitrogen. Re-dispersed particle size was measured by Horiba LA 910 laser light scattering analyzer. The morphologies of dried powders were characterized by an electron microscope and an optical microscope. We found out that the re-dispersability of nanoparticles increased with an increase in the molecular weight of PEG cryoprotectant: A high concentration of cryo- was generally better for the re-dispersibility of particles. Dried cakes of particles obtained from freeze drying showed that the size of ice crystals decreased with an increase in freezing rate, which showed directional freezing. |
