제목 Active Bimetallic Ni(II) Diimines Complexes for Ethylene Polymerization/Oligomerization
초록 In recent years, much attention has been focused on the formation of bimetallic complexes due to their special features. Cooperative effect may exist between the two metal centers that allow electronic interaction via the ligands, therefore, behaving differently in catalysis when compared with the mononuclear complex. The late metal catalysts have the potential to yield polymers with different microstructures and should be less oxophilic and therefore more tolerant of functionalized monomers. The microstructure of polyethylene produced by Ni(II) diimine catalysts varies from strictly linear to highly branched. The degree of branching in the polyethylene and polymer architecture can depend on a number of factors; the metal, the steric bulk of the diimine ligand and the reaction condition.

We report here the synthesis and polymerization/oligomerization behaviors of homo-bimetallic late matel complexes, which combine the effects of having two active centers and also the influence of having different substituent groups. The synthesized bimetallic complexes are suitable as catalysts (Fig 1) for mainly oligomerization of olefins and were used for the homogeneous oligomerization of ethylene(Fig 2). The catalytic system was formed by mixing the complex with an excess of MAO, EAS or MADC. The oligomer content was determined by GC analysis.
