Synthesis of positively charged polystyrene nanospheres by using poly(N-vinylpyrrolidone with various molecular weight as polymeric surfactant |
초록 |
Emulsion polymerization of styrene in the presence of poly(N-vinylpyrrolidone) (PVP) produces sub-micron scale spherical latex particles in water . PVP acts as surfactant in the reaction, and AIBA(2,2'-azobis(2-methylpropionamide) dihydrochloride) is used as an initiator to get positively charged surface of the particles. The synthesized particles were analyzed by the dynamic light scattering in the aqeuous dispersions and also by SEM analysis for the dried particles. The size of latex particle were varied as a function of molecular weight of PVP and added amount as well. It was found that the particle size increased with decreased molecular weight of PVP, and with the decreased amount of PVP. |
